Ophelos Advisory Group is an executive search and recruiting firm for businesses within the banking and financial services sector. Twenty years in the seat, regularly sought out for insights on talent acquisition and compensation.

Headquartered in New York City and working nationally, Ophelos has filled senior compliance, legal, and executive positions across New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Denver, Houston, and other metropolitan centers across the U.S.

The practice spans the full financial services spectrum: traditional asset managers (RIAs, private equity, hedge funds), corporate and investment banks, retail banks, broker-dealers, CPOs and CTAs, financial market utilities, consumer loan and mortgage lenders, insurance and private wealth, and fintech platforms including payments companies, money transmitters, MSBs, credit cards, robo-advisors, and crypto exchanges.

Every engagement runs on the same discipline: a recorded intake, a written scorecard, a market map that goes beyond the first three names, and packages built for asynchronous client review.

The name

Why “Ophelos.”

Ophelos is the Greek root of Hamlet's Ophelia. The word means advantage, profit, to heap up, to accumulate or benefit. Ophelia asks what we might become with introspection, insight, and time. It is the same question we ask of every search.

The mark is a Greek capital omicron with the rough breathing and acute accent — a small piece of orthography that signals the word without spelling it out.
